Kirsty Godso ❤️🔥
Kirsty is a Nike Global Trainer and wellness entrepreneur. Aside from training celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Kaia Gerber, she’s also the founder of not one, but two companies: Made Of, which produces premium whey protein, and Pyro, her high energy fitness platform. Her workouts are used by millions of people around the world (myself included) and she’s, in her words, on a mission to change the way you feel about your body.
I’ve disclosed my admiration for Kirsty’s utter coolness on here before, so just know, this is a very exciting fridge we’re peeking into today.
What is your fridge philosophy?
Your fridge should feel good to you when you open it. For me, it's a combination of my essentials and healthy options I can easily whip into something so I prioritize making my own meals rather than ordering food. Making healthy decisions is a lot easier when you surround yourself with healthy reminders so starting with your fridge is an easy win!
Your fridge is always always always stocked with ____.
Matcha and avocados
Top 5 condiment picks, go.
Chili Paste
Chili Flakes
Harissa seasoning
Fine, I’ll open it up to pantry too. Let’s hear your favorite snacks / pantry staples:
Made Of NZ Grass Fed Whey Isolate - a high quality, fast digesting, stomach friendly protein with no unnecessary ingredients
Glo Bars - small batch made protein bars made by my friend Alay that are high in fiber and protein
Doctor Stolberg Rest & Digest Tea - an after dinner ritual
Almond butter and sunflower seed butter - love adding one of these into my smoothies
A meal that’s on heavy rotation these days:
Two scrambled eggs in a cassava flour tortilla with avocado and hot sauce! I am obsessed! So quick and easy to make and a much healthier version of a breakfast burrito.
Let’s go a little deeper…
What’s the mantra you keep coming back to?
“Your habits are the silent architects of your life.” I love this so much because it speaks volumes to the impact your little routines, healthy habits and micro decisions can make.
What products / practices are part of your regular mental wellness habits?
I mostly process emotions and any mental challenges via movement. Not aggressive workouts like I would have done in the past but I find walking and stretching really helps me to feel and be present with something. I often post about my sanity walks which I started doing a few years ago to rinse off the day. They’re a game changer for me! They don’t have to be long, just some time outside to change the pace of any rapid thoughts.
I see my therapist bi-weekly and we incorporate things like tapping and EMDR which I’ve also found to be super helpful.
And your physical?
Moving my body is an absolute non-negotiable for me. Ironically when you work in fitness, the majority of your movement isn’t truly yours as your full focus is on others so it’s been incredibly important for me to schedule in my own time for movement that is just for me. My favorite fitness products are Pyro and Sky Ting TV.
I also take my recovery seriously - I do regular sports massage, myofascial work, acupuncture, and sauna and cold plunge. I notice such a difference in my body and energy by incorporating these things!
I love skincare and truly love having a morning and evening skincare routine. My best friend is a makeup artist and thankfully taught me so much about this because growing up on a farm in New Zealand, I definitely never thought I’d have an almost 10 step routine haha. Right now I’m obsessed with Sofie Pavitt, iS Clinical, Allies of Skin, and Rhode.
What do you think is the most underrated part of wellness?
Listening to your body. I know that’s not a typical answer but it’s the best advice I can give.
Being able to tune into your body in terms of form and technique so you actually get the most out of each movement not just banging through reps and scrolling on your phone (shots fired lol), as well as knowing when you can push it a bit more and also when you need to rest and recover.
Developing this type of relationship with your body where you can honestly talk to yourself and listen to it is a game changer. You’ll feel your workouts more, have less guilt/anxiety about rest days and make more progress than trying to control and dictate your body. It will also help you navigate a lot of the toxic enlightenment in the fitness and wellness industry that’s always trying to sell you a new quick fix product or telling you there’s only one way to workout.
We see women burn themselves out all the time and then deal with the ramifications or get stuck in a plateau, not getting the results they want. Tune out of the other stuff and tune into you.
And overrated?
Before and after photos. I’m really happy for people when they have transformation as that is obviously the goal but my irk when people get obsessed with a before and after is that they miss the entire journey. All that incredible development and discipline and growth that happens in the middle! It takes work and commitment to really want it, and that to me is the best part of any transformation journey.
Picture this: you wake up one morning and feel like shit. What’s your next move:
Cold shower, warm liquids like bone broth in my body, and ideally a moment outside to feel fresh air. It’s crazy how that alone can recalibrate you.
Give us your ride or die wellness products:
NAD injections at home bi-weekly
One thing you do everyday that makes you the most YOU version of yourself:
Connecting with my friends. Anyone that knows me knows that I’m the most loyal Leo and I am obsessed with my friends. They are my world and always create space for me to be me.
Whose taste inspires you?!
Non-biased because she is my client but Hailey Bieber. Honestly the girl can do no wrong. She is beauty, brains, class and style. She’s also so fun, super loyal and kind. Her recommendations from skincare to clothing to wellness practices she loves are top tier.
The biggest thank you ever to Kirsty for sharing a taste of her life with us. In the least weird way possible, I see Kirsty almost every morning (virtually, and impersonally…) when I work out, so it’s extra special to have her on Into the Fridge today. Clearly I’m a Pyro evangelist, so may I just recommend that you, too, work out with Kirsty as well. You can also follow her on Instagram and find her fridge favorites and more here.
