Anna B. Albury 🫶🏻
Anna is a Brooklyn-based designer and co-creator of the wildly popular
newsletter with her husband. When she’s not working as a full time custom rug designer (whoa!), she’s seeing new gallery shows, trying new restaurants with friends, and exploring the coolest new shops — all in the name of research. What is your fridge philosophy?
Weekly fridge clean outs before weekly fridge stocking keeps everything organized and as fresh as possible… and don’t keep leftovers that you know you aren’t going to eat!
Your fridge is always always always stocked with ____.
Eggs, Fresh Cilantro, Scallions & Salsa
Top 5 condiments, go.
Hidden Valley Ranch
Duke’s Mayo
Maille Dijon Mustard
Chipotle Mayo
Fine, I’ll open it up to pantry too. Let’s hear your favorite snacks / pantry staples:
My go-to snack is popcorn (either in the form of Skinny Pop bags or fresh kernels for when I have extra time).
I always have a fun pasta shape on deck for my next pasta dish — when I see a cute squiggly noodle at the store, I’m snagging it! I also always have to have rice and cans of black beans for last minute lunch ideas during the week.
A meal that’s on heavy rotation these days:
Mexican food is the most cooked cuisine in my home — rice and black bean bowls, quick veggie quesadillas… My husband and I only cook vegetarian at home (and eat meat out) so we’ve found certain veggie dishes that we love like stuffed peppers with chickpeas, grain bowls with sautéed mushrooms, simple tomato pastas, etc.
Let’s go a little deeper…
What’s the mantra you keep coming back to?
If it won’t matter to you in 5 years, don’t stress about it now.
What products / practices are part of your regular mental wellness habits?
Treating my indoor plants, going to the farmers market so that I prioritize eating fresh veggies, having fresh flowers around, going on long walks and spending time at the botanical garden – basically surrounding myself with nature!
And your physical?
Instead of doing pilates or yoga, I do taekwondo. I’m on my purple-tip belt (4 away from a black belt) and 2.5 years deep of class 2-3 times a week. I love having an unexpected/unconventional form of exercise and having the layout of the class be different each day keeps things interesting and push me each time!
What do you think is the most underrated part of wellness?
That healthy, fresh food can be delicious and that cooking is part of the act of feeling nourished & happy from food.
And overrated?
The focus on body image.
Picture this: you wake up one morning and feel like shit. What’s your next move?
Force myself out of bed to brush my teeth, take a shower then get coffee & water ASAP.
Give us your ride or die wellness products:
For skincare, I go simple and use the Herbivore Aquarius face wash at night, Cetaphil face wash in the morning, and Paula’s Choice face lotion 2x a day.
I love having a simple makeup routine too — lots of easy Merit products, light blush, Saie bronzer, and always some form of red lipstick (right now I’m on the Fenty train). I also love using a different fragrance each day depending on my moon and the weather!
One thing you do everyday that makes you the most YOU version of yourself:
Red lipstick!
Whose taste inspires you?!
I’m inspired by designers I love like Reath Design, Matilda Goad, Nikki Chasin, Luke Edward Hall, and museums filled with vintage + antique treasures that feel like they could have been created in the modern day.
Yes, Anna is just as bubbly and bright as her taste would lead you to believe, and I’m happy I got to share a bit of it with you. If you’re a New Yorker (or anyone, for that matter) who likes to know what’s “hip” these days, I’d highly recommend subscribing to
, her Friday newsletter that doubles as my personal weekend itinerary. You can also follow her on instagram, work with her on interior styling, and find her fridge favorites and more here.Feel free to leave a comment or respond to this email with questions you want asked, people you want featured, or anything else that’s on your mind.
