Weleda Skin Food is great for hands, even though it’s not labeled as a hand cream.

i came here to say the same! and the smell is similar in quality to the aesop one, it vaguely reminds me of turpentine in a good way. 😂

You gotta try the Prequel hand cream! I wash my hands so much that sometimes the whole process of lotion can feel like I’m washing it right off but not with this!

Oooh! Where do you get it?

I ordered it from them but you can get at target!

Also, if you’re in New York (CO Bigelow) or Chicago (Merz), go spend an hour looking at all the legacy/European brand hand creams and balms. Ideal afternoon.

Perfectly timed as nyc temps hits single digits next week. I hate that I’m so loyal to my Aesop but it really does work.

I too am an Aesop girl 🙂‍↕️ I kind of want one of those metal “key” things though (is there a name for them?) to help get every drop out — Katie, hand cream goddess, can you advise??

GET A METAL KEY! (I will give you a metal key)

This was brilliant! I’ve used Necessaire for 6+ years, and on my fifth winter in Boston, my hands somehow decided they need a change. I think I’ll be trying the Sidia or Typology. Thank you!

Doing god’s work with this list.

Sharing my personal favorite as of late: Prequel Hand Wrap. It’s light, non-sticky, and super hydrating.

I posted a note in December begging someone to tell me about hand creams that actually work (I swear this category is part of the Big Chapstick conspiracy and most exist to make your hands more dry)...I should've known it would be you that would come to my rescue! <3<3

Okay THANK YOU for commenting on hand feel, I need this to become a part of the common vernacular like “mouth feel” in wine tasting. It’s important!!

thank you! i'm in goldilocks territory!

But what do you recommend for best hand lotion to keep in your purse? I’m nervous about a metal tube becoming a mess.

Expand full comment

exactly! I think the sidia one is failproof because it's a serum squirter
