maybe it's cause my hair is bleached and my scalp is sensitive so I'm always worried that my hair will be fried if I go into a super hot sauna. One less thing to be anxious about as I'm trying to relaxxxx
Love this! Sauna is essential in my weekly routine, especially in the winter. I also adore Banya (any opportunity to eat Borsch haha). Curious to see so many different types of bathing!!! Will definitely be referring to this.
What a fun read! We have The Schvitz in Detroit - aptly named, and with a very fun history (used to be run by the Jewish mafia, then was shut down for a little while for having illicit parties). It really does feel like it's own little culture that I get to play tourist in when I need a day to relax.
isn't it interesting how all of these cultures have come to similar wellness conclusions without communicating with one another about it? and agreed with the mental health benefits of community intertwined here :)
KATIE!!! I love our brains and that we got to meet with sweat serenity this week. Ultimately bathing guide ever!!!
me too :') sometimes the internet is beautiful when it leads to IRL sweating
Now this is what we need more of in2026
