Love fascia!! And the overstretching piece that Bonnie talks about is why I’m not really a fan of yin yoga. Yoga/stretching can be so beneficial, but far too many people overstretch or do yoga without any strength work and can end up becoming injured as a result.

I’m a big flosser and love Bonnie’s class and energy so this was a TREAT! Another less “cool” and “likable” (lol) resource I also use is this guy Perry w stop chasing pain …https://www.instagram.com/stopchasingpain/?hl=en.

I'm a new reader! This post was interesting to me, and I laughed out loud at the beginning. I had a double fasciotomy on my lower legs in the 90s (because of compartment syndrome). To this day when I receive medical treatment of any kind, and I have to list surgeries, doctors do a double take when they see that on my history, to fast forward 3 decades and see it everywhere is a trip, if I'm honest!

I discovered Katonah Yoga a few years ago. It's yoga based on Chinese Tao geometry, the classes I go to are a mix of fascia flossing, yoga flow, and working on your joints. I love it!!

I used to visit my moms yoga teacher best friend in Dallas who would always talk about fascia during her classes. We would literally sit back on our toes as part of this 5 full minute foot-fascia stretch. She would say verbatim, “this will melt your fascia". Obviously, that’s not exactly true, but the idea is similar, and I remember feeling SOOO good after. Lovely post!

This is so fascinating! Even though I've known/heard about the fascia for years, I've never really done the research to know how to care for it. I do think however that it would be really beneficial to my running practice (hello stiffness everywhere). Gonna try to implement a fascia floss per week!
