i am constantly in pursuit of a higher sleep score! I got an Eli & Elm Side-Sleeper Pillow and it really changed the game for me. Also, my boyfriend and I are veryyyy warm sleepers so Scandinavian sleep method has also worked wonders for us.
one bed, two twin duvet covers! So each sleeper in the bed can regulate their own temp and isn't disturbed by the other person moving - it's a bit extra and i hate doing the extra laundry but so worth it
"idealistic, but one indication is the ability to wake up without an alarm" ok but what if you wake up bc you need to go to the bathroom and then you sit in bed for an hour bc you dont want to make it a habit and you feel dumb, asking for a friend
First off, fantastic read - you've got my subscription!
Second, a question if you do run it back for round two (although anyone can chime in here): Do you feel we are we starting to swing too far in the other direction and over-optimize sleep? While it's certainly great to see all of these new products and innovations (that yes, I also write about), I'm also wondering: when does the overwhelm start to creep in?
Great question, and it’s something I think about constantly. I go through phases with my Oura ring personally where I’m very tapped into the data, and others when I prefer to just let my body tell me what it needs. I think (from my pov) it’s all about finding a sweet spot for each individual person, but I’d def want to hear an expert’s take!
Hate to say that I have a sleep stack... but I sleep so well so here we are
- blackout curtains
- 8 sleep for temp control
- weighted blanket (cotton!!! This is key)
- latex (foam) pillow
- no phone in room (I use the 8 sleep vibration alarm)
- silicon earplugs that broke off in my ear once but I have small ear canals and can't quit them because they're the only ones that work
- chelated magnesium
Downside is that travelling sucks for me now 😔
HAHA which things do u take traveling? I feel u
Ps would eat up a substack on travel sleep tips
Omg … smart @Tori Simokov collab idea?
Just the earplugs and magnesium but believe I WOULD take the pillow at least if I could
obsessed with this article is an understatement
Omg I’m SO GLAD

I’m sorry come again with the Scandinavian sleep method

We do this and didn't know it had a name!
My grandparents always did this and I never knew it had a name…. Love it
Just bought a cooling pillow and it changed my frickin life! (the buffy one)
If you’re a hot sleeper i can’t recommend anything MoRe. One side is ultra cool and i haven’t had to flip it once.
And you use a regular pillowcase? Anything special there?
yeah just a regular smegular quince one
IKTV
No way! I wanna hear more
